Staff Changes

Grace is taking maternity leave. Her baby girl was born on 12th December 2008. Congratulations to Grace and Alan. We look forward to the boost in our rolls in a couple of years time.

In Grace's absence, Kim Porteous has stepped into the role of Principal Teacher. Kim is very capable, efficient and organised. We are very blessed to have such a person as Kim on our staff.

Staff Successes

We celebrate with Brenda the completion of her Dip ECE. It is fantastic to have another fully qualified member of staff, and we congratulate you for your diligence.

Kim has been busy studying too, and has completed the requirements for her B.Ed. This is a great achievement.

Agapé Turns One

Agapé celebrated our first year in operation on Friday 29th August with a barbeque lunch at the Centre. We really appreciate the support we received from parents, and it was a great delight to see the children enjoying the Bouncy Castle outdoors on a glorious (at least for this year) sunny day.

It's important to remind readers that our first year's operation follows the extremely hard work put in by Grace and Nanette to get the Centre up and running. Again, NHCCT is appreciative of the capable and dedicated staff, and the support of parents.

New Staff

Parents will be familiar with Pam Battersby who has been in the Centre for six weeks, as Teacher Aide.

Mark Hoete joins us on Monday 1st September as a Teacher. Mark came to the Centre doing practicum, and his natural ability with the children was quite evident. We are very privileged to have a male teacher in the Centre. This is particularly timely given the high ratio of boys we seem to have attracted.
